It is important for you to understand and observe the Rules and Regulations for the Alpine Challenge 2015 or any associated Event.  When entering the Alpine Challenge or any of its related events you will need to confirm that you have understood the rules and will abide by them. Rules and Regulations for the Alpine Challenge: 

  • The Participant must be 18 years or over on the start day of the event.
  • Safety approved cycling helmets need to be worn for the duration of the event by all Participants.
  • It is the Particpants obligation to familiarise him/herself with the event itinerary. The event will not be delayed in the event of a Participant failing to present him/herself at the appropriate time.
  • To be classified as an "Official Finisher" you will need to ride the entire event in one of the seeded groups. Exceptions are made where you may be receiving mechanical or medical attention in a support vehicle.
    You will not be classified as an Official Finisher if:
    • You have to withdraw due to injury or illness or irrepariably breaking your bike
    • You take a "ride" in a support vehicle
    • You don't ride in your seeded group
    • You are DQ'd for failure to adhere to ride rules
  • A Broom Wagon will be available for any Participant requiring a rest. By taking a "rest" you will not be classified as an "Official Finisher".
  • If for reasons of safety or the smooth running of the event you are requested to take a ride in the Broom Wagon, you must comply. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  • Participants may not pass the lead vehicle at ANY time unless directed by a police officer of marshall.
  • Participants will strictly adhere to group riding etiquette and not endanger themselves or their fellow Participants.
  • Participants must seek medical advice if they are unsure about their fitness level or have any medical or health concern.
  • Participants must ensure that they are fit for the start of the event.
  • Participants must wear their Identification Numbers at all times whilst riding during the event.
  • Riders bikes must have Identification Numbers provided, displayed at all times during the event.
  • Participants must inform the event organisers if they feel unwell.
  • Only road bikes or road tandems are permitted for the event. No time trial bars will be permitted.
  • The organisers may from time to time trial a new concept e.g. a non standard road bike or younger riders.
  • The Participant must ensure that their  bike is in safe working order for the duration of the event.
  • Participants may not deviate from the official route.
  • Participants must obey the local traffic regulations, traffic officers. Marshals and ride captains provide assistance for the smooth running of the event such as but not limited to, directions, peloton etiquette, drinks breaks etc. Participants are responsible for ensuring the safeness of their actions on or off the bicycle.
  • Participants may not use their cellphone while riding.
  • Participants may not use a stereo headset or iPod whilst riding.
  • The Tour will take place regardless of bad weather and will only be cancelled, re-routed or stopped for reasons of safety. Entry fees are not refundable, however.
  • Entry to the Event is at the sole discretion of the Organisers.
  • Participants agree to abide by the Bye Laws and Technical Regulations of British Cycling.


Participants hereby acknowledge that they take part in the Alpine Challenge 2015 (‘the Event’) and all functions and events related thereto entirely at their own risk.

Participants hereby agree for themselves, their executors, administrators, heirs, next-of-kin, successors and assigns to waive release and discharge and shall neither have nor institute any claims whatsoever against HotChillee Ltd (‘the Organiser’) and its directors, trustees and shareholders, local provincial and national governmental authorities, participating clubs, Event sponsors and other involved organisations (‘the Entities’) and their employees, agents or contractors to the fullest extent permissible under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 or any other applicable law.

Participants hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Entities and their employees, agents or contractors from all liability and claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of any of the Participant’s actions during the Event.

This waiver and indemnity covers death, disability, personal injury, damage to and loss of property of a participant (including theft of or damage to a bicycle in areas under the control of the Entities and the Individuals) and is effective whether or not such death, injury, damage or loss may have been caused directly or indirectly or wholly or partly by any act or omission including negligence, of any of the Entities or their respective servants agents and contractors and will bind the heirs, executors and/or trustees of the estate of a participant.

Persons signing this indemnity as the parent and/or guardian of a minor hereby agree to such minor being bound by the foregoing waiver and indemnity, and do hereby further indemnify and hold harmless the Entities against any and all liability and claims by such minor to the extent if any to which such minor is not capable of waiving his rights as stipulated above.

Should liability be found to exist in respect of any one of the Entities for any reason then that liability shall not exist in respect of the other Entities unless specific grounds exist for liability on the part of the other Entity or Entities.


I have read and agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations and FAQ/Guidelines which I understand may change from time to time and be posted on the web site I have read and agree to the terms of the Waiver and Indemnity above.

I understand that the Event will involve prolonged strenuous activity and that I need to achieve an appropriate level of fitness in order to participate. Before the start of the Event, if I have any concerns whatsoever about my physical fitness or health, or any medical conditions that may affect my safe participation, I will consult my Doctor.  I certify that I am physically fit and I hereby assume all the risks of participating in the Event.

If I experience any pain or discomfort during the Event I will immediately inform the Organiser.  I agree to submit to any medical examination diagnosis or treatment administered by a suitably-qualified medical professional (‘Medical Professional’).

The medical information included on the entry form may be released by the Organiser to such Medical Professional as may be appropriate in the event of illness or an accident on the trip and I hereby consent to such medical treatment as may be deemed advisable and authorise the Organiser to notify my next of kin.

I understand that the Event may be filmed, photographed and recorded and hereby grant permission to the event organizers to use such images and recordings of myself.

I hereby certify that the information provided by me for this Event is true and correct.
