Redhill cyclist Visser sees off the pros at the Cape Rouleur

It has been a busy winter for cyclist Ryan Visser, who capped off a successful six months with a second-place finish at the Cape Rouleur three-day stage race earlier this month. Visser, from St John's in Redhill, was the top placed amateur in the ProAm competition, coming second to South Africa's Nicholas Dlamini of the MTN-Qhubeka and finishing ahead of many of the professional cyclists.

Developed by long-time cycling entrepreneurs Gerard Vroomen, Andy Kessler and Sven Thiele, OFFRIDING are free spirited multi-stage gravel rides exploring some of the most beautiful sites and regions around the world. It is bound by a sense of adventure to explore and complete the challenge rather than racing. As such, going off-course is actually encouraged.

Cape Rouleur 2015 - Final results

An exciting week of cycling was closed off today with 100 Cape Rouleur 2015 riders taking part in the Cape Town Cycle Tour. Due to the fires which still burn in parts of the city the ride was shortened to 47km due to safety concerns - however the atmosphere wasn't dampened and Cape Rouleur riders "rode in solidarity" with the Cape Town Fire Fighters.

HotChillee’s Cape Rouleur adds new age category awards

The Cape Rouleur, will this year add new awards to cover riders across all the age categories. Two new age categories will be eligible for General Classification (GC) awards. The Masters Category (male and female) will be for riders aged 40-49 at the start of the event and the Grand Masters (male and female) will be for 50+ years. The riders with the best GC times will be awarded the coveted glass trophies at the awards ceremony after Stage 3 in the Race Village, Franschhoek.

MTN-Qhubeka to ride HotChillee’s Cape Rouleur

The Cape Rouleur, the first event in the HotChillee 2015 Global Event Series, will host riders from the MTN-Qhubeka feeder team alongside an exciting blend of development riders, professional, ex-professional and amateur cyclists, celebrities, sporting legends and over 180 international riders. MTN-Qhubeka made history last month when they were the first African team to gain a wildcard entry to the 2015 Tour de France.
